Objective of the experiment:

I)                    To know about different parts of carding machine.

II)                  To know about mechanism of carding machine.

III)                Drawing a simple diagram of carding machine.

IV)               Make a short report about carding machine.

Carding Machine:  The carding machine is located in the spinning process between the blow room and the drawing frame. It cleans and parallelizes the fibres. The resulting card web is then formed into a tape and placed into a can.

Working Principle of carding machine:

1)      Supplying raw material.

2)      Transport roller forward the material to feed plate.

3)      Taker in opens the material to small flocks. When the material passes to main cylinder grid bars and carding segment eliminate a great parts of impurities.

4)      Grid Equipment.

5)      Suction dust and carry away the waste.

6)      Main cylinder and fixed carding segments designed to assists the carding operation.

7)      The main carding operation occurs between flats and cylinder.

8)      Cleaning unit cleans stripes fibre, naps and foreign matters from flats.

9)      The doffer combines the fibre into a web

10)   Calendar roller calendars the cotton and moves that toward.

11)   At last by can and coiler the fabric is produced.

Conclusion:

Carding is the process of arranging the fibre in parallel fusion. This is necessary for staple fiber. Otherwise it would be impossible to produce fine yarn.
